Placing a parrot idol in front of the main entrance is a cultural and symbolic choice that holds significance in various traditions, especially in Hinduism and Vastu Shastra (an Indian traditional system of architecture). The use of specific symbols or idols at the entrance is believed to bring positive energy, prosperity, and protection to the home. So we came up with the idea of hand carving a solid wood parrot with 24K Gold foil and natural colour work done on it to ornate its beauty: Tanjore Tota/Tanjore Parrot. Here are a few interpretations associated with placing a parrot idol at the entrance:
- Symbol of Good Luck: In Hindu mythology, the parrot is often associated with Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom, and learning. By having a Tanjore Tota/parrot idol at the entrance, it is believed to attract good luck and positive energy into the home.
- Vastu Shastra: According to Vastu Shastra, the entrance of a home is crucial for the flow of positive energy (or "vastu"). Placing a Gold parrot idol at the entrance is thought to bring harmony and balance to the energy entering the house as Gold is the purest form of positive energy.
- Auspicious Symbol: The parrot is considered an auspicious bird in many cultures. Having an idol of a parrot at the entrance may be seen as a symbol of auspiciousness and positive vibes.
- Protection: Some believe that the parrot, as a symbol, has the power to ward off negative energies or evil forces. Placing a Gold parrot idol at the entrance is thought to protect the household.
